The Journey So Far

We started in 2007, a tight group, passionate about the finance and investment world, sourcing the most switched-on, savvy, energetic business support staff for this demanding sector. Founders, Susannah and Eva, had worked together in major City recruitment business and the original mission was to make ISE Partners the leading independent secretarial recruiter for the investment sector in London. We are proud to work with many of the world’s leading Private Equity firms, Hedge Funds and top tier Investment Banks. Now, we work with top Professional Services firms, too. Starting in a tiny office with only the basics, but, crucially, in the buzzing West End, our growth was rapid: We quickly discovered that these firms appreciated our deep industry knowledge and careful matching. Our candidates, in turn, were pleased to have found a recruitment firm who genuinely understood their roles, listened to their goals and could offer close counsel on next career steps.

In May 2018, the whole team were delighted to attend the glittering Recruiter Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, where we won our category: Best Candidate Care. In early 2017, we excitedly entered into a strategic partnership with Pertemps, the major national recruiter, becoming part of their specialist portfolio of boutique recruitment firms. So, now our consultants enjoy the dynamism and flexibility that comes from working within an independent, growing boutique yet also get to enjoy the benefits of being part of a large, well-resourced national business (Pertemps is currently the 2nd largest privately owned company in the UK and for eleven consecutive years has been listed in the Times Best 100 Companies to work for!).

Events and Networking

A regular programme of events helps our consultants to cement their existing relationships and start conversations with potential customers and inlude: Office Managers Quarterly flagship networking event "OMQ". Launched in 2017, as we spotted a gap in the networking market. Exciting speakers and sponsors join every 3 months to create an inspiring, engaged group for our clients and senior candidates. There’s nothing else like it on offer, and we are excited to see its 2018 growth. Pertemps’ luxury hospitality/corporate box events – Ascot, Cheltenham Races, Kempton Park Races, to which we have client tickets. Quarterly HR/Employment Law seminars – meetings are hosted by our legal partner, Wedlake Bell, and long-standing employment law specialist, Blair Adams. Another great way to help consultants build business, and develop their own professional knowledge.

We are passionate about recruiting into our super-demanding, core fields of finance and alternative investment (Investment Banking, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital), but have also enjoyed lots of success in sectors which require a similar calibre of service and candidate: Fintech, Professional Services (Management Consultancy, Executive Search), Public Relations and Corporate Communications make up our bread and butter clients, plus we work with a few top names in TMT and new media, too. Working in the heart of the West End, in one of London’s most popular areas, there are so many choices of new and established places to visit for food from every nation, or drinks, whether you love London’s oldest traditions or have a hankering for ‘next-big-thing’. Or, if you’re of an active persuasion, how about joining us for the regular Wednesday morning run around the beautiful Royal Parks? Christmas party – we love activities; every year we combine a fun group event with drinks, delicious food and, of course, Secret Santa. A Thai cookery masterclass, “social darts” and cocktail making in a speakeasy have all previously featured. Summer event – this big do is incentivised (VIP tickets to Lovebox rocked it in 2016), however we always have after work summer drinks or catch Wimbledon on a big screen, with strawberries and champagne in hand. We are regularly invited to Pertemps events and have ad-hoc catch ups with other offices in London.

What Makes Our Team?

Yes, we are recruitment consultants BUT we are also marathon runners, consumers of current affairs, netball players, cyclists, linguists, cooks, mothers, globe-trotters, nutritionists, reality TV watchers, and a thoroughly sociable bunch. There is no ISE Partners recruiter “type” but our unifying trait is that we love engaging with people – meeting new faces and old friends. Candidates become clients and vice versa. We are great at maintaining strong bonds (and have even been invited to a wedding or two over the years!). Team is everything in our office; we naturally want to succeed personally, but as a group we support each other. Success does not come at the expense of others. Commission is individually earnt, but we have major incentives to work towards as a team. Our work environment is autonomous, altruistic, self-led, but with the team support constantly present.

ISE’s Future – Three Year Plan

We are ambitious and want to continue to expand our client and candidate offering, winning large PSL contracts with at least another five 1000+ employee businesses in London. We aim to be a tight-knit group of at least fifteen recruiters by 2021, just in time for Big Ben to begin chiming again! Now that our consultants have the luxury of accessing the financial, HR and marketing structures of one of the UK’s largest recruitment organisations (useful for major tendering processes), the progress can be exponential.

Day to Day at ISE

Autonomous working environment: Targets and KPIs are individual to you, and are there to help you achieve the success you personally want. Targeted activities relate to your quality ratios so there is no “one size fits all” approach. Clear career path: We encourage development through our bi-annual appraisal system. As a small business, you can have involvement in projects, present your ideas and see them come to life. Bi-monthly and monthly 1:1 meetings with Director, Susannah Lawson. Dedicated in-house specialist training led by Director, Eva Rode-Hilbert. ISE specific client events. Radio/televised sporting events on during the day. 5pm finish on a Friday.

What Will Happen When You Start?

You will attend a three day induction course with our parent company, at the Head Office location. You will meet Executive Board members and receive a range of training, including sales training. You will receive in-house (ISE Partners) specialist training, led by Director, Eva Rode-Hilbert Welcome drinks! Weekly 1:1 with Perm or Temps Director, depending on your division. In-house CRM training (Bond Adapt) with your team.
