Who are we?

We’re a small (but growing) company that specialises in building teams across Programme, Project and Business Change throughout the UK, and sometimes in Europe. Set up by myself (Minesh) and Julian, we share a similar story to a lot of business owners - we both worked together at another recruitment firm, and decided it was time to go it alone and create something that stood out from the crowd – something that was not just your standard recruitment firm! Since 2010, we’ve grown from a two-man band to the 24 people that we have in the office today, and we’ve got plans to grow that further. We have some amazing people who’re already part of the 'Deltra family' - but we still need some more. We’re on the lookout for people that want to join us on our journey and become part of our business growth. If you like what you’ve seen so far then give me a shout.

How did it all begin

It all started in 2010. Julian and I were working for a major recruiter in the UK, to cut a long story short - they got bought out and things changed. We decided that it wasn’t the right place for us and after 7 years, we were on the hunt for something different. We did the usual rounds and met loads of different companies. They all looked great on paper but they lacked a certain something. We couldn’t quite put our finger on what it was, but we just didn’t see ourselves working at any of them. So, we decided to brave it and set up Deltra! From the off, we knew we wanted to put our own mark on the business and build a company that didn’t just look or sound the right way, but one that embraced our culture of building relationships, and one which meant something to the people within it. Thankfully for us we’ve had some amazing people join us – some are still here and others have sadly left the industry; but despite any changes that have been made, one thing remains... the culture.

We’ve appointed a Chairman with extensive industry experience to help put the right level of structure in place for us to grow. It’s important that we’re able to scale up at the right pace without becoming too process heavy. In joining Deltra, you’ll be part of a team that help one another fill their open roles by sharing their network at any given opportunity. You might have gathered that we’re not a stuffy corporate either, from our morning huddles to our daily darts competition we’re a close-knit team who genuinely enjoy what we do.

Everyone talks about their USP but let’s face it, recruitment is recruitment. It's not rocket science and clients will work with us if they genuinely trust us. Since we formed, we’ve always aimed to provide our clients and candidates with a quality service. From the Associate Consultants to the MD's I like to think that we’re all really bought in to doing the right thing by everyone we deal with. We’re not perfect (who is?) but we’re really committed to offering a genuine insight into the market, and the best way for clients to get value for money. This way of working comes from our people, and is something we’re really proud of. Our people make us what we are and they all go the extra mile to build strong relationships with our clients and candidates - from hosting a golf day, organising breakfast seminars or networking groups, to taking people out for a drink after work – all our consultants have a genuine interest in what they do and the people they meet.

What does the future hold for us?

We know what we want to achieve and that is to be recognised as a people partner for our clients – we want to them to genuinely enjoy working with us and for them to come back to us time and time again. At some point in the future, we will want to sell Deltra and we want everyone to benefit from the EMI scheme. However, to do this we need the right people in the business to join us on our journey. By 2020 we’re aiming to have 40 people in the team. But we’re not going to hire just anyone, we’re looking for people that will take ownership of different business lines, build teams and build their careers as Managers and Directors. We have a flat structure at the moment, but we know that this needs to change - we want to build a strong management and leadership team who’ll be able to support and develop our consultants as well as their careers.

We also love the traditional methods too – we’ll give you the freedom and the financial backing to go out and work with clients and candidates without seeking an immediate return. We’re massive advocates of building long-term relationships and we understand that can take time, we’ll give you the funds to run round-table sessions, networking events and seminars, in order to build those strong relationships. We're always investing in training for our team - regardless of how long you’ve been in recruitment or at Deltra.
