One of the best things about working in recruitment is the transferable nature of the job.
If you’re a successful consultant who fancies leaving the drizzle behind, why not work for someone who can help you achieve the American Dream?
Proco Global have beautiful offices in New York and Vancouver. Whether it’s being based on 5th Avenue, or within an hour drive of the mountains – Proco has you covered.
Even though they are still a challenger brand in North America, the niche focus in supply chain and the UK style business model is creating huge growth opportunities. Proco work with a broad range of clients across the pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and chemical spaces.
In North America the demand for supply chain professionals has never been greater and they are looking for talented business developers to help us expand their business. There is real scope for the right person to carve out an exciting career path in this growing functional area. Working with peers across the globe and supported by an expert team of researchers based in New York you have the potential to bill in excess of $500k per annum.
They will create a role that is shaped around you to allow you to reach your true potential; all they ask in return is that you bring drive, strong commercial acumen, bundles of energy and a competitive streak to their already successful office. Everyone here has excelled before and is not afraid to challenge the ‘norm’ to ensure maximum reward. Is Proco Global the next step you are looking for?
Opening in 2011 in Houston, Spencer Ogden now has six locations in North America, and three offices just in Houston. The others are Denver (Colorado), Calgary, Fort Lauderdale, Mobile (Alabama) and New York.
Spearheaded by Henry De Lusignan, the business has grown incredibly fast. Houston is the highest performing Spencer Ogden office globally and the US produces 40% of the total revenue across the whole business.
Spencer Ogden operates differently in the US as to how it does in other parts of the world. Desks are triangulated between BD specialists and 2 or 3 candidate resources. This is a reflection of the business culture, and could be considered a hybrid between traditional UK and US recruitment models.
It obviously works – there are three £1m billers in the Houston office, and their biggest biller billed £3.5m (yes I typed that correctly – 3.5 million pounds) last year.
There is a clear opportunity for senior recruiters to take either of these paths in becoming more client or candidate focussed – and with training and development tailored accordingly. Lots of meetings are face to face, and there is adequate budget to travel around the country to build strong business relationships.
There’s a really high achieving culture at Spencer Ogden, and they encourage consultants to have high expectations of themselves. This doesn’t translate directly to dull KPIs, you just need to be focussed on meeting new clients and candidates all of the time – like any good recruiter should!
There are separate local and global incentives. Charity balls, Friday afternoons off and trips to Vegas have all happened recently – and these are arranged regularly for the whole team and high performers.
GQR have offices in New York, LA (Santa Monica), and are launching their Texas office at the end of 2016. They don’t go by halves either; based on Maddison Avenue in New York, and 5 minutes from the beach and with a roof terrace in Santa Monica – their office locations are hard to beat! Over 40% of GQR’s staff have relocated, and the CEO thinks this isn’t high enough!
GQR focus on high end financial services, financial technology and commerce technology placements, with a big presence in the world tech capital – Silicon Valley. With their life science business having just launched on the West Coast due to high demand, and with office launches already planned for Texas, Illinois and San Francisco, this is a business where US Growth is firmly at the top of the agenda.
GQR will consider people from any hard-working background, including all other recruitment sectors. Some of their best performers have come to the business with no previous sector experience, and you can relocate immediately.
There is more opportunity now than ever before to grow with the business. Year-on-year headcount growth is 83% per year for the last 3 years, but only as a bi-product of strong performance rather than putting people on seats.
Consultants at GQR work hard and are rewarded well, both financially and with exceptional opportunity. If you’re truly entrepreneurial, aren’t work shy and would enjoy regular travel incentives, inter-office travel and a close-knit team environment – GQR could be a great choice.
Phaidon International is a multi-award winning, organically grown staffing and recruitment business specializing in the Financial Services, Professional Services, Energy and STEM industries.
This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining their US business. In just two and a half years headcount in the US operation has grown from just 15 to 115 people and in August 2015 Phaidon International was listed as ‘3rd fastest-growing Staffing firm in the US’ by Staffing Industry Analysts.
New York is currently their biggest office, and 7 Consultants have relocated under the leadership of Harry Youtan. San Francisco has been open for a little over a year and already has already achieved a strong successful growth story and Boston is just about to take off!
They are looking for people that can help them expand as a company based on organic growth. They want and need their consultants of today to become the directors of tomorrow. That means not only do they invest in their development, but actively encourage people to push for promotion and opportunities. As a testament to this 70% of US employees were promoted last year and they have relocated over 20% of their consultants to different offices internationally, creating a real global understanding between offices and throughout all levels of the organisation.
As a result of impressive historical organic growth Phaidon International recently raised £18m from Muzinich & Co and HSBC Bank Plc.
They plan to increase the US headcount to 350 people in the next 2 years alongside the opening of offices in Chicago, Houston and North Carolina with Seattle and San Diego firmly on the radar too. They need experienced recruiters to join their company to help them achieve this growth.
The culture is fun, fast-paced, supportive and work-hard / play-hard. The American Dream really rings true throughout each of their offices, every employee is striving to build something special and as a result of that they have employees that are achieving some incredible things at very young ages. Phaidon have a very low turnover of around just 9% yearly for the 3.5 years they have been in the US.
All teams are all very close knit and it really does feel like a family. All of the offices are open-plan with a collaborative vibe and all are in hyper growth phase. As a testament to the awesome culture, they were recently voted both a ‘National Best & Brightest Company to Work For’ (National Best & Brightest) and a ‘Best Staffing Firm to Work For’ (Staffing Industry Analysts).
