Based down in vibrant, sunny Brighton (well, Hove actually), William Alexander boast excellent retention. No one has left the company since October 2016. To us, that says a heck of a lot. With a very experienced delivery team, their industry experience really does give them an edge against the competitive IT recruitment landscape. Oh, and did we mention, if the company hits target everyone goes on the company trip. Yes, everyone.
We can see the Sea. Can you see the Sea? We can.
We have very fancy WeWork offices at No. 1 Poultry (right by Bank tube) which our Business Consultants use as a base between meetings and for candidate interviews and all that sort of thing. They are probably wearing business suits and possibly helping themselves to free beer after 4 pm. Meanwhile, everyone else is wearing anything they like in our fantastic central Hove office, 5 minutes from the beach where we can see the sea every day from our 4th-floor windows.. And did I mention the PS4, the stand-up desks, the shower room, the beer fridge or the semi-legendary "Wheel of Deal"? No, I didn't. If you already live in Brighton why would you want to spend 2 hours of every day of your working life underneath someone's armpit on a Southern Rail train to then spend all day in a suit when you can work in Hove dressed in flip flops and only go to London when you need to? And if you don't already live in Brighton & Hove, then perhaps you should. It's very nice.
The obligatory pool table..
William Alexander is a specialist Technology & Business Change recruiter. Established in February 2010, we are now a team of 29, turned over in excess of £18 million in our ninth year of operation and plan to double in size over the next 5 years. From the beginning, we wanted to differentiate ourselves from our competitors by hiring high caliber individuals who share our ethical approach to recruitment and who we actually enjoy working with on a daily basis (which in IT recruitment does rather narrow the potential pool of candidates....) Everyone probably says this stuff, but not everyone can honestly boast of 4% staff turnover (in an industry that averages 25-30%) and that not a single client-facing Business Consultant has left William Alexander since we started in February 2010 for any reason whatsoever. That has to mean something good, surely?
There is always, always a boat on conference. I am sure I don't have to explain why.
Once a year if we hit target we go on conference... (which has been every year so far but one). 2 nights and 3 days somewhere nice and warm every June. Barcelona, Malta, Bodrum, Paphos and Porta Baunas have been the destinations for the last five years and if we hit target we all go, Directors, Business Consultants, Researchers, Back Office - everyone. No "Golden Director Lunch Winners Circle" nonsense here. Who the hell wants to have lunch with a couple of grey-faced middle-aged men who last billed in 2005 anyway? I am talking about other agencies here obviously. Both our Directors have lovely complexions and still run their own desks.
And fancy dress. Again I am sure I don't have to explain why.
I can't explain this though.
Up to 25% Business Consultant commission and 12% Researcher commission with no thresholds and no splits (BC commission is paid separately and in addition to Researcher commission). 25 days holiday from starting (plus an additional day for your birthday). Private Health Insurance with Vitality - all employees after 3 years' service. Sabbatical Policy (up to 1 month at 3 years' service and up to 3 months after 5 years' service).
Now even industrial recruitment agencies in Kent have office dogs but back in 2012 Rudey was one of the original industry pioneers and a role model for a lot of the young pups who have come along since.
William Alexander wanted to support smaller grassroots charities and community groups where we could make a real difference to the communities where we live and work. So, in partnership with Sussex Community Foundation, we established The William Alexander Fund in April 2013 and rather than asking all our staff to do sponsored runs and hound their friends and relatives for cash, we actually pay the money to the charities directly out of our profits - £45,900 so far and counting.. More information on the groups we support can be found here - http://www.william-alexander.com/charity
