EK in short

EslingKenny provides a personal, relationship driven service, recruiting for the accountancy and finance market in the UK. We recruit from entry level finance roles through to fully qualified heads of department. We are a young start-up, now well into our 2nd year of trading. Based in the Shard Quarter in the vibrant London Bridge area, we have grand ambitions to grow, and enjoy the journey along the way. Whilst we use KPI’s to analyse our desks and personal performance, thereby allowing us to achieve our best results, we do not let KPI’s dictate the service that we provide both to our candidates and our clients. Our motto has and always will be ‘relationships first’.

The fun stuff...

As any recruiter knows, to be successful you have to work hard, but at EK we try not to take ourselves too seriously and know that to get through the long hours and hard work, you’ve got to have a bit of fun doing it! Some of the things we offer include: - Breakfast every Monday – bowl of bran or Pret baguette…we’ve got you covered! - Team lunches - Spot bonuses for strong performance - End of year retreat - Early finish on Fridays - Period close celebrations – these have ranged from bottomless brunches, to slap up meals to attempting to break out of escape rooms! - Friday Quiz – our resident quiz master (you’d think he’d have work to do rather than coming up with a weekly quiz…) takes us on a weekly test of our general knowledge.

Tools of the trade

While any good recruiter should only need a phone, a PC and a smile to bill big, our years of experience have taught us that there are a few things out there designed to help make life easier for us. We use a cloud based CRM which allows us access from anywhere, making remote flexible working a reality, and to help with this we provide our staff with a laptop to take with them ‘on the road’ so that they can get the most of any downtime between meetings.

Opportunity overview...

As a young, rapidly growing and highly ambitious business, we are looking for an equally driven and ambitious junior Recruitment Consultant to join the team in our modern offices in London Bridge. You will be focusing on accountancy & finance roles (up to £30k salary levels) across commercial businesses in London, with the opportunity to grow and manage your own desk. We want to invest in your future - whether you see yourself focusing on billing big or taking the management route joining us at this stage means we can help guide you towards your goal.

Salary, commission & benefits

We consider this role one of the more junior positions in the business but the opportunity to make good money is still huge! We will pay basic salary of £21,000 (trainee level) to £26,000 (1 year experience) with commission uncapped at 10% of all billings. We offer the flexibility of starting either at 8:30 and finishing at 17:30 or starting at 9:00 and finishing at 18:00 (good if you're not such a morning person), with an early finish on Fridays.

Your career with us

We will support you! We are very aware that a company is only as successful as its staff! We may be a small business; however we see that as a huge opportunity for employees. If we want to continue to grow we need the correct people in the correct positions and whether you want to be a big biller or a manager we strongly believe we can get you to where you want to be. Fergus was always the big biller and John the manager so as a team we understand the different motivators individuals have when it comes to their careers. Success doesn’t happen overnight though, we are a small business and you must be willing to get your hands dirty and work for your achievements. We will work hard to improve your weaknesses and hone your strengths and we have every faith your career will mirror the success of EslingKenny – an upward curve!

Plans for EK

What a journey so far! From starting out in Ferg’s spare bedroom, never would we have imagined we would be based in the Shard Quarter in under 2 years of trading. As a company and as Directors we are always open to new ideas, and whether these ideas come from staff or externally, we will listen. We learnt very quickly you grow as a team, not as individuals.
