Values | Culture | Community

We didn't want to have just have four words that are stuck on an office wall to represent our values. We want to live and breathe them as part of our culture so we launched our Values, Culture & Community programme which is defined by our values of Authentic, Collaborative, Agile and Expert. This incorporates the huge range of activities we are doing around Diversity, Equality & Inclusion; Social Purpose; Our Volunteering programme; Smart Working, giving our people the power to set their own hours; and overall employee value proposition. The images represent teamwork, wellbeing and health which are a key feature of our culture.

Volunteering - How does it work?

We each get one fully paid day or 2 half days annually. You can volunteer solo or in a small group through our volunteering hub – there is something for everyone.

Mental Health Foundation

WELLBEING AT WORK: MAINTAINING HEALTHY HABITS AT WORK Working in the city can be stressful; long hours, painful commutes and the constant pressure to do well and perform to our best, and sometimes it’s easy for us to fall into unhealthy habits. According to the World Health Organisation, workplace stress can lead to an overall decline in our physical and mental health, so it’s important that we all strive to achieve a healthy and positive balance across our personal and professional commitments

International mobility

One of the benefits of working for us is that you can move to some of the most exciting locations around the world. We actively encourage our employees to consider working abroad in one of our 11 international offices and we are extremely proud of the fact that of our current staff 30 employees (both fee earners and business services) have done so. Many of our Partners who head the international offices, including our CEO, have worked for us in more than one country. This is testament to the fact that we are committed to making our workforce a truly global one.

EAP is a service available to all SRG employees in London, which has been set up with Health Assured. The EAP provides you (and immediate family members) with an additional avenue of support outside your network of work, family or friends. Whilst our initial focus in setting this up was with mental wellness in mind, the EAP offers practical guidance and support on a broad range of issues, including financial and legal information, consumer issues, lifestyle issues, physical wellbeing and more.

Our Social Purpose

Our social purpose programme enables us to leverage the incredible networks that we have built over the years and fully utilise the established resources we have available. We developed the agenda to have measurable results that positively impact our society and enhance individual personal development. We also wanted to develop an education piece for our clients around wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and social mobility in partnership with the charity sector. We pick a charity every two years to raise awareness and money. The charity is picked by everyone in the office and is therefore quite personal 2017-2018 – Anthony Nolan Trust 2019 – 2020 - Resurgo

The SR Group is proud to announce a new global partnership with myGwork, an award winning business community for LGBTQ+ professionals, inclusive organisations and anyone who believes in workplace equality. myGwork helps to promote diversity and inclusion both in the workplace and beyond by offering its members a safe space where they can connect with inclusive employers, find jobs, mentors and professional events, which makes it an ideal partner for our brand given our strong commitment to diversity and inclusive within recruitment.

Diverse career prospects

Not all top performing recruiters make the best leaders and not all of them want to be leaders. At the SR Group we identify potential leaders early on in their careers. By spending time discussing with them their aspirations from an early stage we can help them develop these skills and fulfil their leadership potential. We offer bespoke individual training courses for aspiring Managers and mentor them during their transition. Our courses are designed to offer both theoretical and practical training platforms so that you can apply what you have learnt every day.

Inclusion & Diversity

Our Diversity & Inclusion strategy has a focus on internal training, policy and experience - if we educate ourselves, understand privilege, become aware of our unconscious bias and constantly challenge it, we then appreciate and understand our candidates beyond their profiles. We understand that we have a critical role to play in improving best practice throughout the recruitment process, becoming a credible recruitment partner to our clients and in turn supporting them in the development of their own D&I strategy.

Our clients are more aware than ever of the benefits of diverse teams and an inclusive company culture – both for their bottom line and for their brand. This is why they are increasingly demanding that we put forward inclusive candidate lists and that we demonstrate a commitment to sourcing from a more diverse candidate population. To fulfil this client demand we are therefore partnering with Evenbreak – a jobs board exclusively devoted to helping its 30k+ talented disabled candidates find inclusive employers. Using Evenbreak therefore gives you, and our clients, access to a wider (and largely untapped) talent pool - these include professionals in the industries we recruit for!
