LinuxRecruit

What Hunted Says

Linux Recruit are true specialists in their market, which means they have the same buy-in from clients as a larger brand, with all of the benefits of working for a smaller agile business. They run the biggest DevOps meetup in the world at over 5,000 attendees and their Trainees have billed over £200k in their first year. There's bags of autonomy, based out of a truly impressive office. This is an awesome culture which harbours success and above all, enjoyment in being successful.

HELLO!

We’re LinuxRecruit; a small-but-mighty recruitment powerhouse, specialising in Open Source and DevOps recruitment. We’re one of the biggest names in DevOps, and more often than not, if you operate in the DevOps space, you’ve heard of us. Our clients don’t fall into a specific category or industry, but they are all exciting, forward thinking companies, who only want to hire the brightest mind in the tech space - which is where we come in!

Tony Chapman

Tony is a veteran of the Open Source industry and started LinuxRecruit five years ago, spotting a gap in the market for a dedicated agency in the community.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

We're looking for consultants who make Placements not do Deals, who run campaigns rather than spray and pray and whose recruitment strategy doesn't end when the phone is 'Smashed'. We're a committed group of true consultants, who enjoy what we do. We are looking for like-minded focused people who favour a long-term relationship, rather than hit and run business. We are pragmatic, to the point and as a collective, fiercely competitive. Our consultants understand the industry inside out, are pragmatic and don't beat around the bush (we refer to ourselves as Recruitment Consultants, you won't find any 'Talent Ninjas' here). If you're bored of just searching the job boards, sending endless streams of unanswered inmails and you want to work somewhere with a genuine USP and real brand identity, then we may be the place for you.

Alice introducing our Scala Central Meetup

COMMUNITY DRIVEN

Our real USP is how involved we are in the community. We host the largest DevOps meetup in the world, giving a platform to speakers from a huge range of different industries; from the CTO at Ticketmaster, to the tech-famous Kelsey Hightower - the meetups are a great way to meet some awesome people, keep abreast of industry developments...not to mention the free beer and pizza. We have over 5000 members and there’s regularly 250+ at each event, just think of the network you could grow yourself! We also produce regular content into the community, such as a regular DevOps eBook, DevOps Journeys, and have an interactive blog area with various client contributions.

I love working here because I am consistently rewarded for my efforts which means I can treat myself to things I love often.

Community is at the heart of the Open Source world - and at the heart of how we approach recruitment.

We build long term relationships, and want everyone at LinuxRecruit to play their part in building a brand that is trusted.

Alice Lloyd

Alice heads up our Development team, and personally specialises in Scala and Functional Programming positions, using her network to build up our successful Scala Central meetup from scratch.

WE TRUST OUR PEOPLE

We treat our people with trust and respect and don't believe in micromanagement or being a KPI driven team. We would rather focus on building meaningful relationships with clients & candidates instead of pointlessly hammering the phone to hit a target for the sake of it. We focus on results, whilst giving you the autonomy to do what you do best - Recruit.

Craig Felston

Craig has been with us for almost three years, working on permanent roles in the Linux & DevOps space.

WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER LINUXRECRUIT

We have excellent relationships for anyone coming in to leverage off There are huge opportunities in our marketplace, and you'll join us with lots of warm relationships, and the scope and support to grow into leading a team, or even starting out your own business unit. We have a great commission structure, but what really sets us apart is the partnerships we have within the tech industry - giving our consultants huge opportunities to bill. How much you achieve is up to you, but trainees coming in have billed 200K in their first year, and our top billers are bringing in over 600K.

Billy, Alice & Craig our 2017 award winners!

TRAINING AND SUPPORT

We ask you on day one to tell us your goals so that we can tailor learning, to suit your path from day one. We invest heavily in training and development with a mixture of on the job, e-learning and classroom sessions to ensure all learning styles are catered for. We also run optional, bi-weekly lunchtime workshops and have industry expert visits. We also set aside time each month for a review, which gives you the chance to reflect on what you've achieved and refocus on your long term goals.

SAYING WELL DONE

You'll be exceptionally well rewarded at LinuxRecruit. There is a lunch club for every consultant that hits their target in the month, where we go to a great London restaurant and let our hair down! There's also a quarterly holiday target for those on track with their targets. Last year the team went to watch the Euros in Paris, and we're off to Las Vegas to celebrate a great year next month. The fact we're small means that we can reward our consultants flexibly, and we regularly come up with other ways to reward their hard work, whether that's going go-karting, or getting some drinks into the office to toast a great week!

GENUINE SPECIALISTS

We know everyone in recruitment says they are specialists. But we take our word seriously. We see ourselves as part of the Open Source industry, and if you join us, you'll be able to become a real expert in your market - and that's definitely not something you can get at other agencies.

Enjoying a game of pool in Vegas

We don’t wear shiny suits. We make placements not deals. We are fiercely competitive.
