World Heart Day is a campaign that has been running annually since 2000 which aims to educate people around the world that heart disease is the leading cause of death globally.

The purpose of this day is to raise awareness and increase knowledge around the subject as there are actions individuals are able to take in order to prevent and control cardiovascular disease.

So what actually is cardiovascular disease? It is a group of diseases which affect the heart of veins and arteries. This can be caused by a combination of socioeconomic, behavioural, and environmental risk factors.

To get involved and help spread awareness about this life-threatening disease, share a post and use the hashtags #UseHeart #WorldHeartDay

#worldheartday #cardiovasculardisease #awareness #heartdiseaseNext Phase Recruitment are hosting an exclusive roundtable discussion in London on Thursday 3rd November, entitled "Building GMP Capabilities for Scalable Supply". We have confirmed around 20 guests and 2 speakers so far, all of whom are senior managers and decision makers within ATMP, Biopharma, CMO and NHS environments.

To the senior-level people in our network who are concerned with the development and scale-up of GMP processes and the optimisation of collaborative partnerships with 3rd parties - if you would like to join us on 3rd November and contribute to the discussion (following a delicious lunch), please send us a direct message!

#recruitmentcareers #jobsinrecruitment #nextphaseTo celebrate a fantastic first half of 2022, the Next Phase team had an amazing day out in London!

We enjoyed a trip on an Ultimate Tower RIB Blast from Tower Pier to see some of London’s landmarks and experience the high speed! There were some questionable hair styles after…! This was followed by a three-course meal at Butlers Wharf Chop House with a gorgeous view of Tower Bridge.

This was a great opportunity to celebrate everyone’s hard work and achieved targets over the first six months of this year and getting to know the newer members of the team.

#autumn #newstart #recruitment #opportinities #nextphaseThis week we are introducing Shane Lees!

Shane joined Next Phase in 2016 as a recent graduate, initially focusing on the IT sector and the application and development of LIMS, ELN and other digital lab technology within pharmaceutical laboratories in the UK, Europe and USA.

Shane is a highly skilled business analyst who offers unique and highly valuable support to the sales team within Next Phase. He is an integral part of us providing these services and he uses a range of resources to obtain, interpret and provide information, whether directly to clients or via our consultants.

On a more personal level, Shane’s favourite book is Embracing Defeat by John W. Dower and he loves to bake bread! He loves spice and his favourite curry is a Naga curry.

#business #businessanalyst #cellandgenetherapy #recruitment #nextphaseMassive congratulations to Gabby Boczon for being promoted to Senior Delivery Consultant!

Gabby joined Next Phase in June 2021, after achieving a 2.1 in her Psychology degree at University of Sussex. And what a great first 15 months she has had!

Being the first person to join our revamped graduate training programme, Gabby has excelled in learning all about the world of life science recruitment and has now placed a number of people in different positions within Cell & Gene Therapy and Pharmaceutical businesses, with an increasing focus on Informatics.
Not only has Gabby exceeded her sales targets but she continues to be a very active member of the team, bringing positive energy to everything she does, and encouraging her teammates along the way.

Gabby is going to next month’s Lab of the Future congress in Amsterdam, alongside Alex Butcher. She has taken the lead in organising our upcoming roundtable discussion with GMP professionals in London. What’s more, outside of the office Gabby has volunteered in an animal rescue shelter and helping out in Horsham Park; and she put herself forward to abseil down Spinnaker Tower last weekend – despite a fear of heights – to help raise much-needed more for Action Medical Research.

Her promotion to Senior Delivery Consultant is highly deserved and we are very proud of her. Well done Gabby!

#promotion #nextphase #careersinrecruitment #recruitment #progression #informaticsLast week, the Next Phase Team took part in an Equality, Equity and Diversity Course run by Diverse Matters.

Diverse Matters is a diversity and inclusion company who work with organisations to embed diversity and inclusion within their practices. They use a tailored approach to ensure that the services required meet the specific needs of the organisation and is fit for purpose as 'one size does not fit all'.

Being recruiters, it is really important that we are aware of others and the impacts words can have on them. This training was really useful as it made everyone think from an alternative perspective.

Equality, equity and diversity training helps to:

> Enhance knowledge Improve outcomes as an organisation
> Ensure everyone is inclusive in the workplace
> Enhance awareness and understanding of the value of equality and diversity in the workplace and out.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Diverse Matters for coming into the office and discussing this topic with us. We will definitely be applying the skills we learned in our day to day work from now on!

#mentalhealthtraining #mentalwellbeing #mentalhealth #westsussexmind #nextphaseWe did it!

8 of us abseiled 100 meters down the side of the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on Sunday to raise money for @actionmedicalresearch and quite frankly it was terrifying!

Stepping off the platform on to the wall did not seem completely safe… however the views were incredible from the top of the Spinnaker Tower, and we are all so pleased that we completed this challenge for such an incredible charity.

We have managed to raise nearly £1,800 for Action Medical and we are so proud of everyone who took part. We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated. This money will help contribute to the ongoing development of different treatment options for children suffering from conditions such as epilepsy.

CSR

As a company, we are passionate about giving back to the local community and charities, and recently launched our volunteer and charity programme which gives staff paid time away from the office to help out locally and encourages everyone in the company to get involved in fundraising activities. This year we have selected Make-A-Wish Foundation UK and Action Medical Research as our chosen charitie s and are embarking on a number of charity events throughout the year. Our team have also signed up to volunteer in the local community in a number of different areas; including Age UK, a local youth centre and to help keep the local park clean and tidy.
