Brought to market in the summer of 2016, Damhurst's purpose is to provide a new and fresh approach to building insurance leadership teams. The insurance industry is centuries old and some would argue hasn't evolved much in that time... this however is NOW changing... new technology, new forms of capital, new pressures from a D&I perspective and many more challenges have arisen which hitherto were "other peoples' problems". If a Search firm wants to operate as a "Trusted Adviser" to its clients then an embedded responsibility exists to be living and breathing the challenges of their clients. Whilst he will not say this himself...

John is an experienced, highly respected and trusted member of the insurance search community. Having spent his insurance career as Chairman and MD of various insurance companies, before joining Damhurst in 2016, he founded his own Search firm and has been responsible for building some of the market's most notable and successful leadership teams.

Passionate about our journey...

James started his first business at school, bizarrely hiring one of his teachers upon graduating - he has always had a keen eye for a business opportunity. Having gained ten years headhunting experience, latterly leading the London operation of the largest insurance search boutique in the world, he founded Damhurst in the autumn of 2016.
